Congress On Your Corner

November 16th, 2007

ARCURI TO HOST “CONGRESS ON YOUR CORNER” IN NEWARK VALLEY WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S Representative Michael A. Arcuri (D-Utica) announced today that he will hold a “Congress on your Corner” event in Newark Valley on Saturday, November, 17th. Arcuri will be available to meet with constituents and discuss problems local constituents are having with the federal government. Arcuri will be joined by staff from his congressional office, who can take down information about constituent concerns and problems with the federal government.  This “Congress on your Corner” is part of a series of events that Arcuri will continue to host throughout the 24th district to hear constituent concerns and assist individuals with federal issues.

N.T.Y.L. Cheerleaders Cleaned House

November 6th, 2007

“WE DID GREAT”

This passed weekend (11/3/07) Newark Valley N.T.Y.L.Cheerleaders Cleaned house with some excellent moves at the Waverly Competition.  With 9 other schools competing Newark Valley girls took home an award in every event.  The girls range from grades K - 2 for lower, 3 - 5 for middle, 6 -7 for upper and 7 -8 for modified.  In the Crowd cheer our lower girls took 4th the middle girls took 2nd and the Modified took 1st.  In the show cheer NV middle took 1st, and the modified took 2nd.  In the Cheer/Dance division our Lower and Middle took 3rd and our modified took 4th.  In the optional contest, Jump off we had 1 lower Taylor Kalpokas and 2 modified Kristal Stevens & Kerra Matolka finish in the top 5.  In the tumble off 3rd place NV - Taylor Kalpokas lower division and 1st NV – Kerra Matolka modified.  For individuals NV Kerra Matolka 2nd place.  For Doubles modified with a score of 122.5 – NV Barbie Jordan/Kerra Matolka took 1st.  In the four girl stunts modified division with a score of 139 – NV Sierra Tompkins, Kristal Stevens, Shayla Johnson, and Kirsten Chase took 3rd and with a score of 146 – NV Barbie Jordan, Kassie Corey, Kerra Matolka, and Angela Kamrowski took 1st.  All the girls worked very hard and came out on TOP.  Way to go Girls!!!!!!!

    We hope you find what you are searching for in this electronic view of our rural unique Village. Our one thousand fifty residents offer a sincere welcome to our friends and to those who are not familiar with the areas' rolling hills, vistas and other scenic attributes of New York's Southern Tier.

    We are creating these digital pages of information so our citizens may seek information such as, Village Codes, Municipal Meeting days/dates and time; ask questions of your Municipal leaders and Staff via the e-mail format or just tell us "What is on your mind". Information must be easy to retrieve and we believe this user friendly format will be useful to everyone.

    Our five members Board of Trustees welcome your insight and participation with the opportunities and obstacles in operating this community in the most fiscally responsible manner. We wish to improve infrastructure, tax base and attractions in our Village. With your comments and help - that will happen.
