Winter Code Reminders
November 1st, 2022With winter on its way, remember the Village has a NO PARKING code throughout the whole Village and it starts today, November 1. The code reads as follows:
§ 157-43 Schedule XV: Parking Prohibited Certain Hours.
• No parking on any highway or private road, either side, within the corporate limits of the Village of Newark Valley from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m. from November 1 to April 1
• No parking in parking lots contiguous to the municipal building on 9 Park Street in the Village of Newark Valley (except for designated areas for emergency personnel) from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m. from November 1 to April 1.
Please review the below sidewalk code if you are new to the village or need a refresher on the time frames:
§ 140-32 Time limit for removal of snow and ice.
• A. The Village Board deems it to be a matter of public safety and that from October 1 of each year until April 15 of the following year the following time limits for removal of snow and ice shall be in effect, and the property owner shall be responsible for the removal of ice and snow within the time limits prescribed below without any further notice by the Village. Snow and ice shall be removed within 24 hours after the end of a snowfall on noncommercial establishments. Sidewalks in front of commercial establishments and commercial parking lots shall be kept free of snow and ice at all times between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• B. The failure to remove ice and snow in the time period set forth above shall be deemed to be a public emergency, thus allowing the Village to have such ice and snow removed, pursuant to § 140-29I(3)(a) without any further notice to the property owner.

Their unique style of music blends biblical and traditional instruments such as hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltery, zither, mountain dulcimer, mandolin and guitar with their voices to provide a “down-home” family oriented message of Jesus’ love and grace.
